The readiness of energy-intensive tractors for spring field work in the Vitebsk region is 94%, Sergey Dogel, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Agriculture and Food Committee, told a BELTA correspondent today. According to him, the overall readiness of the tractor fleet is about 80%. Br1 billion has been allocated from the regional budget to the Vitebsk Motor Repair Plant to provide timely repair services for engines and other mechanisms to agricultural organizations. Supply organizations in the region will supply the necessary spare parts for repairs on a deferred payment basis. The volume of this support is estimated at Br5 billion. This spring, 8,000 tractors are expected to enter the fields. This year, the region will continue to work on achieving an optimal structure of sown areas. Grain farming will be focused on increasing the production of food grain. Over 800,000 hectares are planned to be sown with grain and leguminous crops, with a target harvest of 1.3 million tons of grain. -0-
