Schedule of regional selections for the "Slavianski Bazaar-2021" competitions
The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, together with the state institution "Center of Culture "Vitebsk" – Directorate of the International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk", regional executive committees, and the Minsk City Executive Committee, is actively working on holding selection rounds for the XXX International Pop Song Performers Contest "Vitebsk" and the XIX International Children's Music Contest "Vitebsk".
SCHEDULE of regional selection rounds
The first stage of the national selection for the international contests will begin on November 12, 2020. The starting point for the regional selection rounds will be Gomel. The regional rounds will continue in Mogilev (18.11.2020), Minsk region (Borisov, 02.12.2020), Grodno (03.12.2020), Vitebsk (04.12.2020), and Minsk (07.12.2020). The first stage of the selection rounds will conclude on 11.12.2020 in the Brest region.
In accordance with the contest conditions, performers who are citizens of the Republic of Belarus, aged from 8 to 14 years old inclusive as of the last day of the festival, with concert performance experience, and who have made a name for themselves with successes in international or republican music contests and festivals, are eligible to participate in the selection round for the children's music contest.
Performers who are citizens of the Republic of Belarus, aged from 18 to 31 years old inclusive as of the last day of the festival, with concert performance experience, and who have made a name for themselves with successes in international or republican music contests and festivals, are eligible to participate in the selection round for the pop song performers contest.
To participate in the competitive auditions, you need to submit two compositions:
for participants of the children's music contest:
a pop song by a Belarusian author in the Belarusian language;
a pop song of the participant's choice that best reflects their performing skills and artistic abilities;
for participants of the pop song performers contest:
a pop song by a composer from a Slavic country in one of the Slavic languages;
a popular composition in a foreign language ("world hit").
Based on the results of regional selections, **up to 5 participants** from each region and the city of Minsk are selected to participate in the second stage of the qualifying rounds.
