The Counts' Pliater Estate in the Braslav District will be transformed into a modern tourist complex

The Plater estate in the agro-town of Opsa in the Braslav region will be equipped with a geothermal installation. The project implementation will cost 100,000 dollars. The Global Environment Facility, within the framework of the Small Grants Programme, will provide half of the necessary funds. The remaining costs are borne by the LLC “Estates and Castles”, established this year for reconstruction and restoration work. The count's buildings are also owned by it.

A heat pump will be needed for heating and air conditioning of the estate and adjacent buildings. Currently, the necessary package of documents is being developed. The installation is scheduled to be launched next autumn.

The Minsk investor – LLC “Real Estate Trading Center “Pakodan” – is determined to breathe new life into the ancestral estate of the Platers. The head of this project, Olga Mandrik, notes that the decision not to use traditional heating methods was not made by chance. This will preserve the appearance of the estate and improve the environmental situation in the region, as the energy-efficient installation for heating the buildings will use the heat of the earth's interior.

— We have received letters of support from the Ministries of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Culture, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Braslav District Executive Committee, and other state structures interested in the project implementation. We hope that we will succeed in implementing everything planned.

The count's estate, surrounded by amazing natural beauty, will soon become a year-round tourist complex popular with compatriots and foreign guests. In addition to the hotel, there will be sports facilities and a SPA center. A campsite for tents and campers is also planned. The complex is planned to be commissioned in stages. The first visitors are expected at the end of next year.

According to Olga Mandrik, a similar tourist complex has been created in neighboring Latvia. There is someone to look up to, someone to cooperate with. Kraslava partners offer to develop joint tourist routes that would increase the flow of tourists from Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland. The management of LLC “Estates and Castles” does not exclude the possibility that after the completion of the reconstruction project of the estate in the agro-town of Opsa, other ancient buildings will be taken under its care.
