The Grand Prix of the National Competition of Young Performers of Belarusian Pop Song was awarded to Nicole Furghal
Nikol Furgal was also presented with the special prize named after Vladimir Muliavin - a crystal guitar, which was established by a decision of the President.
Nikol Furgal is a scholarship holder of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the Support of Talented Youth. She has been involved in music since childhood. At the age of five, she became a soloist of the show group "Kakao". Currently, the girl is a soloist of the show group "So-Ni-Ka", which includes wards of the "Parus" association of the Vitebsk City Center for Additional Education of Children and Youth. The group was among the top ten finalists of the national qualifying round of the children's song contest "Eurovision-2016". Nikol Furgal is a laureate of international competitions in Lithuania, Poland, Russia, as well as many national competitions.
In an interview with a BELTA correspondent, the girl admitted that she performed for her own pleasure. "I did what I love. I love the stage, it's my place. I like to give people smiles, emotions, convey the meaning of the song. But I also like to receive energy from the audience," she said. According to the singer, performing with an orchestra was not something new for her. "But every time you get unforgettable emotions because it's live music. It's completely different feelings than when you sing to a backing track," she assured.
By decision of the jury, the third prize and the title of laureate were awarded to Angelina Vasilevskaya (Minsk), the second prize to Anna Tityich (Brest region), and the first prize to Denis Churaov (Mogilev region).
The award ceremony was hosted by the artistic director of the National Academic Concert Orchestra, chairman of the jury of the competition of young performers of Belarusian pop song, People's Artist of Belarus, Professor Mikhail Finberg.
For all stages of the competition, participants present two songs by Belarusian authors in the Belarusian language, not exceeding 3 minutes and 40 seconds in duration. During the second round of the republican stage, young performers sing to a backing track, and during the third round, accompanied by an orchestra.
The XX National Festival of Belarusian Song and Poetry "Molodechno-2021" opened on the evening of June 11 and will run until June 13. It brought together talented performers, poets, musicians, composers, and masters. The project is aimed at preserving and developing the native language, traditions, and national music, and contributes to uniting creative forces and the continuity of generations.
The National Competition of Young Performers of Belarusian Pop Song is an integral part of the festival. This year, it featured 20 contestants representing the regions of Belarus and the city of Minsk. Young performers consider performing at the Molodechno festival a great fortune, and working with the National Academic Concert Orchestra of Belarus under the direction of maestro Mikhail Finberg – an excellent school of professional skill.
Initially, the Grand Prix of the competition – the "Golden Fern Branch" – was a challenge prize. It was made according to the sketch by Molodechno artist Yuri Gerasimenko-Zhiznevsky.-0-
