Governors underwent firearms training at the military security meeting

During the meeting, its participants were acquainted with the main trends in the development of the military-political situation. They visited an exhibition where the main means of fire destruction in service with the Armed Forces and territorial troops, and their capabilities were presented.

Then, near the village of Protasevichi, an example of a powerful fire strike by missile units was demonstrated, and practical exercises on firing mortars and anti-tank guns were held at the Osipovichi training ground. As assured by the Head of the Territorial Defense Department - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Andrei Paseko, the reserve servicemen who took part in the training successfully completed the assigned task, hitting all enemy targets.

As noted during the theoretical classes by the Minister of Defense of Belarus Andrei Ravkov, each training session has its own focus. Since 2016, issues of forming territorial troops, organizing territorial defense, guarding defense facilities, and introducing martial law have been considered. During the previous training session, which took place in the Brest region, the procedure for combat use of military units and the Armed Forces in conjunction with territorial troop units was studied, with an emphasis on the defense of populated areas. The current training session focuses on the fire destruction of the enemy. "As the military conflicts of recent years show, this is an important factor for achieving the goals of any confrontation," he stressed.

At the end of the training, the results of the activities of local executive and administrative bodies on improving territorial defense of the regions (Minsk) in 2018 were summarized. The training was held in accordance with the plan for the training of the Armed Forces for their intended purpose in the 2018/2019 academic year. Its main goal is to improve the level of individual training of the leadership of regional and Minsk city executive committees on issues of military security and state defense.
