Humanitarian cargo of medical purpose from Germany arrived in Vitebsk
Functional medical beds with mattresses, wheelchairs, walking aids, and other rehabilitation equipment, bed linen, furniture, and hygiene products were provided and delivered by the "Diepholz" district organization of the German Red Cross in the city of Syke, with which the Vitebsk colleagues have been cooperating for over 20 years.
As part of the visit, foreign partners will visit healthcare facilities where the equipment and rehabilitation aids will soon be distributed, including the regional hospital, the regional clinical specialized center, and the Glubokoye and Beshenkovichi central district hospitals.
According to a representative of the German side, freelance employee of the organization Joachim Klaus, their regional organization has about a hundred medical beds in stock, which they intend to deliver to the northern region of Belarus in stages. They are also ready to cooperate in other areas, including in matters of preparation and response to emergencies, having extensive experience in this field.
By the way, the current visit of foreign guests to the regional center is the second this year; a shipment worth 30 thousand euros was brought in the spring. Traditionally, representatives of the "Diepholz" organization visit the Vitebsk region twice a year, and they always come with something.
As reported by the regional organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society, throughout the cooperation, German partners have provided humanitarian aid totaling over 500 thousand euros. The composition of the shipments has not changed over the years – medical equipment, rehabilitation aids, and hygiene products are used in medical, rehabilitation, and social institutions of the region.
