Bakhtin's idea of cultural dialogue will be brought to life by participants of the scientific-practical conference in Vitebsk

March 31, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. The idea of Russian philosopher Mikhail Bakhtin about the dialogue of cultures will be brought to life by the participants of the Russian-Belarusian scientific-practical conference of pupils and student youth in Vitebsk. From April 1 to 2, the regional center will host the first international conference "M.M. Bakhtin's Ideas and the Problem of Humanizing Education," project coordinator Lyubov Kul told a BELTA correspondent. About 140 guests from different regions of Belarus, as well as from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Saransk, and Smolensk, will present their reports and participate in the work of four sections. Along with the presentations of students and pupils, reports by scientists and practicing teachers are planned, concerning the problems of developing intercultural communication in the educational space of the two states. Mikhail Bakhtin is one of the greatest thinkers of the 20th century, a recognized classic in the field of philosophy and philology. Born in Russia, he began his pedagogical career in Vitebsk. In 1920-1922, he taught at the Vitebsk Pedagogical Institute and Conservatory. He is a researcher of the works of Rabelais and Dostoevsky. The latter's work served as an impetus for Bakhtin's philosophical understanding of culture as a dialogue. This, in turn, laid the foundation for modern culturology. Bakhtin's ideas have gained wide recognition in France and Japan. The organizers of the scientific-practical conference are Vitebsk universities: the State University and the State Technological University, as well as Gymnasium No. 4. -0-
