The idea of receiving family capital for the birth of a second child should be discussed at the All-Belarusian People's Assembly - Vladimir Terentyev
The proposal to extend the family capital to the birth of a second child, which was announced on January 19 at a press briefing on the main directions of the socio-economic development program of Belarus for 2021-2025, needs to be discussed at the VI All-Belarusian People's Congress. This was reported to journalists by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, delegate of the VNS Vladimir Terentyev, in response to a question from a BELTA correspondent.
The draft program for socio-economic development for 2021-2025 was developed by the government in conjunction with regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee, with the participation of the National Academy of Sciences and the National Bank, as well as representatives of the scientific and business communities. The document outlines a wide range of topics and issues that indirectly or directly affect every Belarusian. Among the discussed innovations is the idea of expanding the number of family capital recipients. It is proposed to extend it as support for the birth of a second child.
According to Vladimir Terentyev, this is a good proposal that has met with approval from medical professionals.
"The possibility of support not only for the birth of a third child, but also for the second, was discussed with the chief physician of the regional maternity hospital, Elena Leonovich. Specialists say that the aspects that were voiced require study, possibly some refinement and discussion at the All-Belarusian People's Congress with subsequent approval in the program itself," noted the head of the region's parliamentary corps.
Yesterday, Vladimir Terentyev met with library employees. The participants touched upon problematic aspects of the institutions' work, issues of financing various projects, replenishing book collections, and acquiring modern equipment. Over the past five years, libraries in Gorodok, Senno, Tolochin, Verkhnedvinsk, Babinichi, and Bolbasovo of the Orsha district have been renovated in the region. Plans include the renovation of the Shumilino and Glubokoye libraries. The meeting also discussed the importance of adapting specialists to the digital age, the ability to attract young people, and the necessity for a library to be not only a place for books, a repository of knowledge, but also a socio-cultural center of a city or district.
