The II International Festival-Competition "Art Parade in Vitebsk" will be a preamble to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of "Slavianski Bazaar".
"Art Parade", as noted by the General Director of the Vitebsk Culture Center, Gleb Lapitsky, was conceived as a younger sibling of the largest European arts forum. Last year's debut of the new winter festival showed that it is in demand among young talents from many countries. As soon as information about the second competition appeared on the websites of the Vitebsk Culture Center and the Ilva travel agency, which co-organized the project, this year, letters from potential participants began to arrive. Belarusian artists, as well as representatives from Kazakhstan, Russia, Latvia, and Cuba, were the first to show interest. The application process for participation in the project has already begun and will last until December 15, 2020.
– We want to hold the festival offline, but depending on the epidemiological situation, we are ready for other options as well. The directorate has experience in organizing events in various formats, – emphasized Gleb Lapitsky.
"Art Parade" preserves its main goals – creating conditions for the self-realization of talented children and youth, strengthening international ties, and promoting national cultures. The second festival will expand its borders. Firstly, the age limit of 25 years has been removed. Now, creative groups and performers from 6 years old and older (no upper limit) can take part in the competition. Secondly, the number of nominations has increased: instrumental music and fine arts have been added to vocals and choreography, as well as decorative and applied arts and crafts. In this regard, new concert venues and new objects will appear in the excursion program. It is an integral part of the festival program, and, as the director of the Ilva travel agency, Larisa Petrovskaya, said, interesting trips, acquaintance with the sights of Belarus, and master classes from leading masters and teachers await the participants.
The first festival has already established a tradition – to start it with a fairy tale. The chief director of the Vitebsk Cultural Center, Irina Kovlena, said that the curtain of the second "Art Parade" will be opened by a musical based on the world-famous story of Peter Pan, written by the Scottish writer James Matthew Barrie. The forum will conclude with a spectacular gala concert, where the winners will be announced. According to the competition rules, the Grand Prix winner will receive the right to perform at one of the official events of the anniversary "Slavianski Bazaar".
