The names of Petrov, Pugacheva, Rotaru, and Pakhmutova will appear on the "Walk of Fame" in Vitebsk
June 16, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. An Alley of laureates of the special prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus "Through Art - to Peace and Mutual Understanding" will be created for the XVIII International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk". Its foundation has already begun, Vladimir Terentyev, head of the culture department of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, told a BELTA correspondent.
The alley is designed in the ceremonial zone of the Summer Amphitheater. It will be clearly visible from all observation decks. The entrance to the alley will be marked by a triumphal arch, near which a pedestal will be installed with an enlarged 80-centimeter copy of a statuette of a muse girl with a wreath, which is awarded to all laureates. Decorative elements of the alley will be polished granite squares with the festival's symbol - a cornflower, the name of the laureate, and the year they received the award. This year, five nameplates will be laid - according to the number of recipients, including the laureate of 2009.
The award was established by a decree of the head of state in 2005. It is awarded to figures of culture and art, creative groups, and organizations that have made a significant contribution to strengthening international cultural cooperation, promoting achievements and examples of world artistic culture based on humanistic ideals and values. The first laureate of the prize in 2005 was Russian composer Andrey Petrov. In 2006, Alla Pugacheva was awarded this prize, in 2007 - Sofia Rotaru, in 2008 - Alexandra Pakhmutova.
The first Walk of Fame appeared in Hollywood in 1960. Currently, 2.5 thousand squares are laid out on Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street, with the names of celebrities recognized by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce as individuals who have made a great contribution to the entertainment industry. Moscow has 5 star alleys. Some of them immortalize the names of celebrities based on corporate affiliation, like the alleys near the circus on Vernadsky Prospekt and near the Mosfilm studio, while others, like on Arbat, can be supplemented with your own names by paying a certain amount. -0-
