Named courtyards of district centers may appear in Vitebsk

It was proposed to create courtyards of district centers in the new microdistricts of Vitebsk at the field meeting of the presidium of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies today by the Chairman of the Vitebsk City Council Nikolai Smunev, a BELTA correspondent reports.

   "It would be wonderful if the regional center had a Miory courtyard or a Verkhnedvinsk courtyard, which would be distinguished by local flavor. This will please both residents and guests of the city," Nikolai Smunev is sure. The presidium of the regional council and the heads of district councils of deputies supported this initiative, proposing in turn to create a Vitebsk courtyard in each district center. 

   The field meeting of the presidium of the regional council considered the progress of the "Courtyards" program implementation in the regional center. As noted by the Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee Viktor Nikolaikin, the improvement of courtyard territories is closely related to people's livelihoods, so the authorities pay close attention to this issue. By creating the city program "Courtyards", the executive committee and the deputy corps took into account the wishes of the residents and decided to take a comprehensive approach to the issues of repair and improvement of adjacent territories, bringing order to entire microdistricts.

   This year, 14 courtyard territories are subject to comprehensive improvement. Br5.2 billion has been allocated for these purposes. Asphalt concrete pavement is planned to be repaired in 174 courtyards, of which work has already been carried out in 47.

   In 2010, 8 courtyard territories were capital repaired, and in 328 courtyards, work was carried out on the repair of asphalt concrete pavement of territories, walkways, and sidewalks with a total area of 186.75 thousand sq. m. for a total amount of Br5.2 billion.

        The housing stock serviced by the services of the unitary communal production enterprise "Vitebsk City Housing and Communal Services" consists of 1851 residential buildings, which have 908 courtyard territories.-0-
