India is interested in developing cooperation with Belarus in the fields of education and pharmaceuticals

June 25, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. India is interested in developing cooperation with Belarus in the fields of education and pharmaceuticals. This was stated by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus Ramesh Chander today at a meeting with the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Kosinets, reports a BELTA correspondent.

According to the ambassador, all Indian pharmaceutical companies present in Belarus are importers. "Meanwhile, it is possible to open a joint production here: to bring raw materials, produce the product and sell it both in Belarus and in Western European countries," the diplomat said.

One of the most promising areas for cooperation is also education. To activate it, not much effort is required, believes Ramesh Chander. For this, it is only necessary to work out a centralized system for admitting students to Belarusian universities, consider the possibility of creating more favorable admission conditions, for example, expedited visa issuance, other benefits.

In general, Belarus and India have huge potential for cooperation, but so far our countries have not even come close to the trade turnover figure they could have. In the opinion of the diplomat, the creation of a broad information field about each other's opportunities will help change the situation. "We need a clear, transparent environment, broad awareness of promising projects, then major businessmen will feel the smell of money themselves and come," Ramesh Chander is convinced.

In January-April of the current year, the trade turnover of enterprises of the Vitebsk region with India amounted to $2.4 million.-0-
