The initiative to treat patients injured while intoxicated requires study
The initiative to treat patients injured while intoxicated at their own expense requires comprehensive study. This viewpoint was expressed in a conversation with a BELTA correspondent by Prosecutor General of Belarus Alexander Konyuk.
"The law does not allow for paid assistance solely on the grounds that a person was injured while intoxicated. I believe that in this case, a clear mechanism must be defined, otherwise the effect may be the opposite. After all, there have been many cases of doctors abusing their position. This is a slippery slope," the Prosecutor General warned.
In his opinion, such measures should be applied to people with a tendency to abuse alcohol, not to law-abiding citizens.
