Innovative products account for 28% of the Vitebsk region's economy
According to her, the Regional Executive Committee is taking all measures to increase the share of innovative products. "These are mainly products of petrochemistry, pharmaceuticals, wood and metal processing, and light industry. 50% of goods in this category are supplied for export," noted Anzhelika Nikitina.
There are four technoparks in the northern region (three of them are based at universities), and 125 organizations are developing innovative types of products. The issue of their implementation into the economy is acute, as it takes a long time to create products. "It is important to interest educational institutions in product development by establishing their interaction with consumers (enterprises of the region)," added the Chairperson of the Economics Committee.
