Innovative projects will be presented at the city stage of "100 Ideas for Belarus" in Vitebsk

The city stage of the republican youth project of BRSM "100 Ideas for Belarus" will be held today at the Gorky Central City Library in Vitebsk, the regional committee of the youth association reported.

Zonal stages of the project have already been held in Novopolotsk, Glubokoye, and Dubrovno, where experts reviewed more than 30 works. In Vitebsk, at the exhibition-presentation, authors of innovative projects from educational institutions and enterprises of the city will present the results of their work. Representatives of the city administration, the deputy corps, business, and the education sector will act as experts.

Students of Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov, Diana Biryukova and Alexander Shidlovsky, are participating in the youth startup battle for the second time. Last year, they presented a laser engraver assembled from parts printed on a 3D printer. This season, they are presenting a development that promises to facilitate the movement of elderly people and people with disabilities – a multifunctional cane. Its functionality includes notifying close relatives via SMS in case of unforeseen situations, pressing an emergency button, sending GPS coordinates of the location, and much more. "Analogues of the smart cane already exist in the world, but our device is much cheaper," the developers shared.

Nikita Kudinov from the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian State Academy of Communications will present "Gestobot" – a robot that can be controlled by hand gestures. Such a development can be used as a manipulator to solve problems in hard-to-reach places, in conditions dangerous to life and health, as well as in the industry of remote-controlled model cars and aircraft construction.

The regional stage of the competition is scheduled for December.
