An internet bridge with representatives of the Red Cross societies of Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina will be held today in Vitebsk, the Vitebsk regional organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society informed a BELTA correspondent. The region is implementing the project "Strengthening the Service of the Sisters of Mercy of the Belarusian Red Cross Society." Within its framework, international experts and employees of the regional organization are holding a conference dedicated to the role of older people in modern society and the conditions for realizing their potential. Participants will discuss the development of mechanisms for active participation of older people in solving social problems, the formation of a positive image of older people, public recognition of their authority and social contribution, and the creation of conditions for an active and healthy lifestyle for older people. The internet bridge will connect conference participants with representatives of the Red Cross societies of Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, who work with older people in their countries.
