September 30, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Investments in the development of the Sennensky district in January-August amounted to over Br54 billion, the ideology department of the Sennensky district executive committee informed a BELTA correspondent.
The funds were directed towards the opening of significant social facilities. For example, a cooperative industry plant has started operating in the agricultural production cooperative "Litsovo". In the agro-town of Bogdanovo, a new round-the-clock care unit for lonely elderly people, designed for 32 places, has been functioning since April. In September, the district's first technical service station opened, and in early October, a radio and television broadcasting station for digital television and radio broadcasting is planned to be commissioned.
A significant renewal occurred this year in the appearance of the urban settlement of Bogushevsk, which celebrated its 130th anniversary on August 14. For the holiday, a polyclinic serving over 9,000 people – residents of the settlement and nearby villages – reopened after reconstruction. Over Br1.2 billion was allocated for the renovation of the facility, which also includes a children's and women's clinic. In addition, new shops have appeared in the settlement.
New retail outlets have also opened in the district center: five private shops and a reconstructed central department store have started operating, creating comfortable conditions for both customers and employees. In particular, the store is equipped with modern cash register equipment, the range of products offered includes about 15,000 items, and there are a cafe and an exchange office.
Significant attention is paid to housing construction in the district. Two 60-apartment buildings and 22 rural single-family houses have already been commissioned. Substantial funds are being directed towards the modernization of cultural and sports facilities, and the opening of new production facilities. In total, investments in the development of the Sennensky district are planned at Br76 billion for 2010 and Br82 billion for 2011. In 2009, they amounted to Br53 billion. -0-
