Investments in the development of Vitebsk broiler poultry farm expand production and create jobs
The products sold by the enterprise under the "Hanna" trademark have long been loved not only by residents of Belarus but also by citizens of other countries. High demand in domestic and foreign markets served as an impetus for expanding production capacities — in September, production site No. 2 of broiler shop No. 3 was commissioned. The facility was built as part of the state programs "Agrarian Business" for 2021-2025 and "One District - One Project."

— The first site in this shop was built two years ago. 53 million rubles were spent on its construction and equipment, and about 69 million were invested in the construction of the second one, — explains the chief economist of the enterprise, Pavel Loktev. — Each has 14 floor-type poultry houses for 48 thousand birds. Thanks to this, the capacity to produce an additional 25 thousand tons of poultry in live weight annually has been created. The simultaneous capacity of the two sites exceeds 1.3 million chicks.
Broiler shop No. 3 is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, all processes are automated, and information is displayed on a central computer: electricity availability, water level in the water tower, and so on.
— We have the ability to manage the microclimate, receive emergency signals, and make corrections remotely via a phone application. The human factor is minimized, and the entire process is under constant control, — noted the head of broiler shop No. 3, DmiDmitry Kirkizh.

For the successful operation of the sites, 27 workstations were created at each of them. Experienced poultry farmers from other shops were partially redistributed here. The main requirement for poultry farmers is to work responsibly and conscientiously, strictly following all rules and regulations.
— Not everyone can handle it, you need to be responsible and efficient. The workload is heavy, but manageable. We have people who have been working at the factory for decades, — emphasized Dmitry Vladimirovich.

Lyudmila Burdinskaya, the leading zootechnician of broiler shop No. 3, has been working at the enterprise for 33 years, and she started from the egg warehouse.
— Once in school, we wrote an essay on the topic "Who I want to be." The factory was just starting its work then. And I wrote that I want to be a poultry farmer, to raise poultry. That's what happened, — the woman recalls.
After graduating from the Luzhesnyansky Agricultural Technical School, Lyudmila worked in Rogachev at a duck factory, and then returned to her homeland — to Verkhovy, where the main site of the Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm is located.
Lyudmila Pavlovna noted that over the years of her work at the enterprise, the factory has been transformed. When she came here in 1990, there was a small incubation shop, one site of broiler shop No. 1, a small slaughter shop, and one parent stock shop along with young replacement stock. Now the factory has three broiler shops, two poultry slaughter and processing shops, two incubators, a pedigree young stock shop, and three parent stock shop sites. Since 2009, 14 agricultural organizations of the district have been merged with JSC "Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm". Currently, over 4000 people work at the enterprise.
— My mother worked here for 17 years, she was awarded a medal for her labor. And now so many of my relatives work in different areas of the factory! Not pelist, — emphasizes the specialist with a smile.
Lyudmila Pavlovna's duties include full control over chick rearing: preparing poultry houses, properly placing the birds, monitoring feed consumption and quality, and carrying out effective culling to ensure good birds go for slaughter.
— I have a family tradition here too. My grandfather worked as the head of broiler shop No. 1, my mother works in the laboratory, and my father is involved in hatching chicks at the incubator, — says Alexander Kozlov, lead engineer-energetic of broiler shop No. 3, joining the conversation.

Alexander has been working at the enterprise for 11 years. He came here after the army as an electrician, graduated from university, and became a lead engineer. His task is to ensure the full life support of the shop and maintain a specific microclimate.
Poultry farmer Irina Bulykina has been working at the factory for 14 years. She says she enjoys working with poultry: here, chicks are treated like little children. She is in charge of 96,000 chicks in two poultry houses.
— There are no trifles in our business because we work with living organisms. You need to know everything from A to Z: how to feed them, how to administer medication, in short, do everything to make the birds comfortable and warm. It's pleasant that this work is well compensated, — emphasizes Irina.
The shop manager continues the thought:
— The most important thing in our business is to strictly adhere to the chick rearing technology and veterinary prescriptions. Deviations are unacceptable: too large a population in the shop.
The factory is developing year by year. Investments in production open up new opportunities, strengthen its competitive advantages, and enhance its prestige.
COMMENT
Snezhana SEMENOVA, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk District Executive Committee for Economics:
— The implementation of the "One District - One Project" program has not only expanded the production capabilities of Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm but also created new jobs. In the future, this will ensure an increase in gross product output.agriculture by 5–7 percent, industrial by 15 percent, will provide about 700 thousand rubles of direct tax revenues to the district budget annually, and the average monthly salary will also significantly increase.
As for the Vitebsk district, the implementation of the project will also provide an opportunity to additionally receive 6–7 million dollars of export revenue in the future, which is about 10 percent of the district's indicator. New high-performance production, due to advanced technologies, will allow for cost savings, as a result, the sales profitability indicator for the district as a whole will increase by two percent.

The construction of site No. 2 is one of the final projects of the five-year factory reconstruction program. For the enterprise, this is not only additional production of poultry in live weight but also a balance of production capacities. As part of the state program "Agrarian Business," a new slaughterhouse was built. To fully load it, two new floor-type poultry housing sites were needed — broiler shop No. 3. All shops are located at a distance from each other to ensure biosecurity and the "empty-occupied" technology.
