Investment agents will appear in Belarus
August 7, Minsk /Marta Astreyko - BELTA/. A new institutional mechanism for implementing investment activities is being introduced in Belarus - investment agents. This is stated in Decree No. 413 "On granting powers to individuals and legal entities to represent the interests of the Republic of Belarus on attracting investments to the Republic of Belarus", which was signed by the head of state Alexander Lukashenko on August 6, BELTA was informed by the press service of the President.
This step is taken to improve the organizational forms of work with foreign and national investors and to further increase the country's investment attractiveness.
Both an individual and a legal entity, including a non-resident of the Republic of Belarus, can be designated as an investment agent.
Individuals possessing practical skills in preparing investment projects for implementation, as well as having personal business qualities that allow them to negotiate with the top management of large companies, will be able to obtain the status of an investment agent.
A proposal to designate a specific person as an investment agent can be submitted to the Council of Ministers by any republican government body and other state organization, as well as by a regional (Minsk city) executive committee, based on an application from a potential investment agent.
The decision to authorize an investment agent to represent the interests of the Republic of Belarus is made by the government.
The decree enters into force on the day of its official publication.-0-
