The investment forum will be the central event of the Days of the Slovak Republic at the international arts festival "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk"
The Belarusian-Slovak Investment Forum will be held in Vitebsk on July 12-13, as reported by the Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic in the Republic of Belarus, Alexey Sychev.
The event is becoming traditional for Vitebsk, and this year the forum is planned to be more representative and large-scale. According to preliminary information, Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Culture of Slovakia will take part in its work. The interest in the business event has already been confirmed by the heads of more than 30 Slovak companies operating in various fields and exploring opportunities for project implementation in the Vitebsk region.
These projects concern the energy sector, in particular, the participation of Slovak companies in the construction of the Beshenkovichi Hydroelectric Power Station on the Daugava River and a number of other small and medium-capacity power plants. "The fact is that Slovakia produces turbines for hydroelectric power stations, so there is an opportunity to attract a so-called tied loan for the project implementation," Alexey Sychev clarified. In addition, the Belarusian side's proposals for the construction of a cattle breeding complex, the creation of a woodworking production facility with the implementation of innovative technologies, and an enterprise for processing used electrical appliances and electronic equipment are being worked out. A number of other initiatives are planned for discussion, including those on the development of trade cooperation in the supply of petroleum products, liquefied gases, and other goods to Slovakia. Slovak companies intend to use the event precisely for negotiations on detailing the terms of cooperation.
Vitebsk, noted Alexey Sychev.
Also, agreements on cooperation are being prepared for signing between the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine, Vitebsk State Medical University and specialized universities in the city of Kosice, as well as gymnasiums and schools in the regions of the Vitebsk region and Slovak regions that are developing twin-city ties. At the forum venues, presentations of the tourism potential of Slovak resorts and regions of the Vitebsk region will be held.
The Investment Forum will be the central event of the Days of the Slovak Republic at the international arts festival "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk". Traditionally, a Slovak courtyard will be organized at various venues of the festival, where visitors can learn about the traditions, cultural heritage, and national cuisine of the Western European country, and film screenings and exhibitions of Slovak artists will be held.
