An investor will open a large garment production facility at the site of the former factory in Verkhnedvinsk
"Previously, a large sewing production facility of OJSC "Mila" was located in a three-story building and two smaller ones. However, it began to decline in the 1990s and eventually closed, and the vacant workshops in the city center became a pressing issue for the authorities. We advertised this property to investors, although it is not state-owned. Finally, a businessman from Minsk, the General Director of the production and commercial limited liability company "BSV," became interested. He acquired the former factory building from the shareholders for a symbolic price to establish LLC "Tricotaghnaya fabrika Mila BSV." Construction work has now begun," explained Elena Borzdyko.
The interlocutor noted that the new owner quickly registered the enterprise, is bringing in construction materials, and most importantly, is searching for workers, having already hired 40 seamstresses. It is expected that in the future, up to 400 people may be employed in the production, so recruitment is underway not only in Verkhnedvinsk but also in neighboring districts. Employment will be offered to the unemployed registered with the district employment center and to school graduates. It is planned to transport those wishing to work from rural areas. The issue of equipping several rooms in a dormitory is being addressed to attract graduates from the Vitebsk Technological College. The entrepreneur intends to expand the sewing production, which he has been engaged in for a long time. He has an established business in Belarus and Lithuania, where profitable enterprises producing knitted goods operate. The closest one is in Braslav, where a workshop with 40 jobs was recently opened, and a total of 100 people are planned to be hired.
"BSV" will operate on a tolling basis, concluding contracts for the production of finished goods with well-known Belarusian companies "Milavitsa" and "Mark Formel," which will provide the commercial enterprise with equipment, cutting, and all
necessary for work. Representatives of these companies also organize free training for employees, so even people far from sewing can master production in 3 weeks. For now, it is about fulfilling orders for sewing corsetry and knitwear, but there is also a long-term plan to register their trademark, and set up a production line for knitwear, including clothing for schoolchildren.Ekaterina Knyazeva - BELTA.
