Foreign private unitary agricultural production enterprise "Detskoselsky-Gorodok" will invest about Br1.5 billion in the expansion of the wholesale and logistics center in the village of Ezerishche (Gorodok district), the director of the enterprise Sergey Ustimenko told a BELTA correspondent. The current wholesale and logistics center is designed for the processing and storage of potatoes and vegetable products of Belarusian producers, which are then exported to the Russian Federation. Currently, a Dutch line for sorting and small packaging of potatoes is operating here. Br1.5 billion was also allocated for the creation of the center and its technical equipment. Last year, the wholesale and logistics center exported vegetables worth approximately $200,000. In 2011, the enterprise intends to purchase another line for sorting and packaging potatoes and vegetable products. Unlike the previously installed one, it will allow for the sale of clean washed vegetables. The enterprise also intends to build a modern potato storage facility by the end of the current year. Upon completion of these works, the production capacity of the center will be 30 thousand tons of potatoes per year, the storage volume will be 9 thousand tons, and the sorting and packaging of carrots and cabbage will begin. Sergey Ustimenko emphasized that the expansion of the logistics center will allow for the accumulation of vegetable products produced in the republic in one place and their processing in accordance with the requirements of the retail chains of the Russian Federation, and will ensure their stable export sales. IPUPP "Detskoselsky-Gorodok" is part of the agro-industrial concern "Detskoselsky". The enterprise was registered in the Vitebsk region in 2007. It is engaged in the production and wholesale trade of agricultural products. It has a branch "Virovlyansky", where a dairy complex for 1.2 thousand head of dairy herd is under construction. The agro-industrial concern "Detskoselsky" is one of the largest agricultural producers in the North-Western region of Russia. It includes more than two dozen enterprises in the Leningrad and Voronezh regions of the Russian Federation, and in the CIS countries. The concern's structure includes agro-complexes, processing plants, trading houses (including a Russian-Belarusian one), and a retail chain. -0-
