Irina Krivko won bronze in the individual race at the European Championships in "Raubichi"

"A bronze medal at the European Championships in Raubichi is a good result after an illness," Belarusian biathlete Irina Krivko told reporters after finishing the individual race.

Media representatives congratulated the Belarusian on the bronze medal of the continental forum and primarily inquired about her health. "Before the start of the home championship, we considered options with the coaches to skip the individual race after the illness, but the preparation was aimed specifically at the European Championships. I missed the North American stages of the World Cup, so we decided to compete. And, as we can see, we were not mistaken. A good result. I am very glad to have made it to the podium after such a shake-up for the body," Irina Krivko noted.

The bronze medalist of the individual race added that in such inclement weather, she managed to cope with shooting and did not feel pressure for the result in front of her home crowd. "I only started training on February 15, as the temperature dropped. We didn't expect to be placed so high in the final standings," the biathlete said. "I went into the race without thinking about a failed start. Everything is positive, I tried to show everything I am capable of right now." Irina Krivko also admitted that after Darya Domracheva and Nadezhda Skardino left big-time sports, it is still difficult for her to feel like the leader of the Belarusian team. On the first day of the European Biathlon Championships in Raubichi, medals were awarded in individual races for men and women. The first among men was Bulgarian biathlete Krasimir Anev. The gold for women was won by Sweden's Hanna Öberg.
