Sincere interest in the events of the Great Patriotic War testifies to the patriotism of the younger generation - a veteran
May 9, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The sincere interest of young people in the events of the Great Patriotic War testifies to the patriotism of the younger generation. This opinion was expressed to a BELTA correspondent by a Great Patriotic War veteran, a resident of Vitebsk, Stepan Burakov.
According to the veteran, since the beginning of this year alone, he has conducted about 20 courage lessons in schools in the regional center, during which he told teenagers about the facts of his military biography, tragic and interesting events of the war years, and post-war life. "The kids sit and listen like mice, there is no indifference in their eyes, they show the most lively interest in this topic, they are interested in the details. It is clear that they are really interested in this topic, and their opinions and statements testify to the patriotism of the young generations," the interlocutor emphasized.
Stepan Burakov celebrates Victory Day with a cheerful, good mood in the company of loved ones and his friends, also war veterans. "May 9 for me is a huge holiday, symbolizing above all peace and tranquility in our country," the veteran noted. He also added that local authorities take the most active part in the fate of veterans and war participants. "One cannot be offended that someone among us is forgotten, because there is support, and it is quite strong. And if we ask for help, they always help," the veteran stated. -0-
