August 13, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The Italian aerobatic team "Frecce Tricolori", after a colorful performance in honor of the centenary of the Russian Air Force in Zhukovsky, put on an impromptu show over Vitebsk Airport today, a BELTA correspondent reports.
The aerial aces on ten MB-339 light attack aircraft are refueling at Vitebsk International Airport, Sergey Ruris, head of the Vitebsk branch of the Republican Unitary Enterprise for Aeronautical Air Traffic Services "BelAeroNavigatsiya", explained to a BELTA correspondent. Despite the working nature of the flight, the pilots performed several aerobatic maneuvers, thereby expressing their gratitude to the airport services for their work. Dacha residents from nearby villages also became spectators of the improvised show. According to them, "the spectacle was stunningly beautiful."
Vitebsk, on the eve of the centenary of the first aircraft landing, which was made in the city by the famous Pyotr Nesterov in 1914, may find the experience of interacting with foreign pilots very useful. Currently, Vitebsk Airport handles charter, domestic, international, passenger, and cargo flights, and provides air traffic services in the airport area. The airport was commissioned in 1977 and has the status of an international airport. -0-
