Representatives of the Daugavpils School Administration and their colleagues from the Vitebsk region will discuss the results of the cross-border cooperation educational project "Zemgale-Novka" during the visit of Latvian guests to the region. Olga Ryazanova, Head of the Department of Education, Sports and Tourism of the Vitebsk District Executive Committee, spoke in more detail about the program of their stay.

A delegation of seven people from the Daugavpils Regional Duma and School Administration will visit Belarus on a working visit from October 13 to 16.

The main goal is to summarize the results of the implementation of the three-year cross-border cooperation project "Expanding Educational Potential by Creating a Bilateral Cooperation Network "Zemgale-Novka". During this time, with European funding, the secondary school in the agro-town of Novka, Vitebsk region, acquired a modern planetarium equipped with multimedia technology, as well as a computer class. And a tractor driving class opened at the school in Latvian Zemgale.

"Currently, an audit of all project activities is underway. And on October 16, a round table will be held at the Novka Secondary School, where interim results will be announced," explained Olga Ryazanova. Meanwhile, the visit program starts on October 13 with a reception at the Consulate of the Republic of Latvia in Vitebsk. Then the guests will visit the Kirovo Secondary School, where they will get acquainted with the work of the local decorative and applied arts salon-gallery "Art-Bird of Pridvinye", try their hand at some craft at master classes, and this day will end with a visit to the unique Zarone Historical and Local Lore Museum, which took first place in its category at the national museum competition.

On October 14, a joint delegation of education system workers from Daugavpils and Vitebsk regions will travel to Minsk, where a series of working meetings, including at the Ministry of Education, and a cultural and educational program are planned. The next day, the guests will continue to learn about the school projects of the Vitebsk region. "We want to show that we are open to various initiatives and cooperation. In fact, we have a long history of cooperation with the Daugavpils School Administration, starting with the signing of an agreement in 1996. And there is also an agreement between our regions on cooperation in various fields: trade, culture, sports. There is a constant exchange of delegations. What else is needed to develop partnerships. This is what we want to discuss with our colleagues," concluded Olga Ryazanova.
