The results of socio-economic development were summarized at a meeting of the Postavy District Executive Committee

The results of the socio-economic development of the district for the current period of 2024 and the improvement of the efficiency of organizations' work are being considered at a meeting of the Postavy District Executive Committee, reports a BELTA correspondent.

The meeting is attended by the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Deputy for the Postavy Electoral District No. 29 Igor Sergeenko, as well as the Chairman of the Board of the National Bank Pavel Kallaur.

Opening the meeting, Chairman of the Postavy District Executive Committee Sergey Chepik cited some positive results of socio-economic development as an example and immediately drew attention to areas requiring improvement, calling for the fulfillment of all set indicators. According to him, the results of work in certain areas cause concern. "I believe that we have a quite decent human resources potential and raw material resources potential," he concluded, adding that the district has something to strive for.

"For January-March 2024, the district's industry generated a net profit of Br2.6 million, an increase of 9 times compared to the level of January-March 2023. Revenue amounted to Br71.5 million, which is 115.9% compared to January-March 2023," reported Deputy Chairman of the District Executive Committee Irina Nesterenok.

Organizations in the district increased production compared to January-March of last year for parquet boards, furniture, lumber over 6 mm thick, wood chips, hard cheeses, rag products, and unspun flax fiber. They are actively developing new types of import-substituting products here. OAO "Postavy Dairy Plant" is working successfully in this regard with cheeses, and ChUP "Postavy Furniture Center," which produces a range of parquet, furniture, and doors. The total volume of import-substituting products manufactured amounted to $11.7 million.

It is expected that by the end of the half-year, industrial organizations in the district will show growth compared to the same period in 2023.

As part of the head of state's directive "One District - One Project," OAO "Postavy Dairy Plant" is implementing an investment project to organize the production of dairy products. It is being carried out in two stages: equipment procurement

for the production of cottage cheese (the first batch of technological equipment has already arrived, the full delivery is expected by the end of the half-year), then - equipment for bottling milk into plastic bottles. Six proposals have been received for the latter, which are currently being studied.

In addition to modernizing other production facilities and technical re-equipment, among the tasks for 2024 in the district's industrial complex are the search for new sales markets, both in neighboring Russia and in distant countries.
