Ivan Tertel appointed as the head of state's authorized representative in the Vitebsk region

Chairman of the State Control Committee Ivan Tertel has been appointed as the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Head of State in the Vitebsk region. The corresponding order was signed today by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, the press service of the Belarusian leader reported.

The appointment of Ivan Tertel to the post of Plenipotentiary Representative of the Head of State in the Vitebsk region was discussed during a working meeting between the President and the head of the SCC on July 29. "The head of the SCC has always been responsible for the Vitebsk region, and also for the forest industry. I think you are familiar with all this," the President noted. "Therefore, I would like you to go to the Vitebsk region, sort out the situation there, and be the President's plenipotentiary representative for this region."

"I know that you, while dealing with oil supplies and other issues at the State Security Committee, often visited Novopolotsk and are familiar with the Vitebsk region. At least, many people tell me so. You will sort it out. But I really hope that your work will be effective not only as the chairman of the committee but also as the plenipotentiary representative of the Head of State in the Vitebsk region," the Belarusian leader added.
