The apple trees in the garden of the Marc Chagall House-Museum in Vitebsk will temporarily become an art object

August 16, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Apple trees in the garden of the Marc Chagall House-Museum will temporarily become an art object. The transformation will be carried out by students of the international summer school of arts at the Marc Chagall Museum, which opened today in Vitebsk, the museum director Lyudmila Khmelnitskaya told a press conference, BELTA correspondent reports. The summer school of arts has been operating for the third time. Its students traditionally include young artists and dancers. Now, young talents from Vitebsk, Polotsk, Gomel, Minsk, and Nienburg (Germany) will expand their understanding of the possibilities of art, both visual and plastic, and will get acquainted with a new direction of contemporary art - land art - working with natural materials and objects without harming the environment. For a week, teenagers will take part in a dance master class and create drawings based on musical associations. Their final exam will be the creation of art objects in the garden of the Marc Chagall Museum - for a while, the Chagall apple trees will become participants in a performance. According to Susanna Maierhofer, the head of the group of German schoolchildren, who is participating in the summer school for the second time, such interaction of creative children allows them not only to get acquainted with the works of their peers but also helps them establish personal contacts. "This is a fantastic school that teaches you to make friends," she said. The best works of the school's students are added to the collections of the Marc Chagall Museum and are periodically exhibited. -0-
