Sales fairs will continue in the Vitebsk region until January 7
Pre-holiday fairs and sales will be held in all cities and district centers of the Vitebsk region, their organization, as well as the size of the discounts, have not been canceled, reported Irina Levkovich, head of the trade and services department of the regional executive committee, to a BELTA correspondent.
To improve the level of trade services for the population during the pre-New Year, New Year, and Christmas days, an order of the Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee "On holding fairs and sales" was previously adopted. In accordance with it, from December 6 of this year to January 7, 2015, fairs for the sale of food and non-food products are held on weekends in cities and district centers of the region.
Pre-holiday trade, including exhibitions-sales, sales at reduced prices, product tastings, and promotional events with discounts on goods and services, began on November 15. According to preliminary data, trade enterprises of the region planned to hold more than 800 exhibitions-sales, expanded sales, 960 promotions, and sales of goods at reduced prices. 200 pre-New Year and Christmas fairs are planned to be held in cities and district centers.
In particular, in Vitebsk itself, fairs started on December 6 and are held weekly on weekends at major venues in three districts of the city. On the holidays and pre-holiday days of December 24, 25, 31, and January 7, business entities are recommended to set weekday operating hours in retail outlets, as well as extend operating hours for catering facilities. Trade enterprises of the region have created stocks of champagne, confectionery, and gift sets for the uninterrupted supply of the population with New Year's assortment of goods.
Discounts established by manufacturing enterprises and retail outlets to stimulate consumer activity remain in effect. On December 28, 22 trade enterprises in the region, including OJSC "Vitebsk Department Store", branded stores of LLC "Marko-Service", SOOO "Belvest", ZAO "Kis", ZAO "Vulkan", and others, will participate in the republican "Unified Discount Day" campaign.
According to the department, 800 tons of public catering products are planned to be produced during these days: culinary products, bakery and confectionery items, and semi-finished products. Preliminary orders from the public for these products, including those with festive decorations, are being accepted by 430 public catering facilities. Approximately 80,000 people are planned to be served at corporate parties and other festive events.
