The jubilee exhibition of sculptor Valery Moguchy opened in Vitebsk
April 22, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. A jubilee exhibition of the renowned sculptor Valery Moguchy has opened in Vitebsk, the art museum informed a BELTA correspondent.
The exhibition, dedicated to Valery Moguchy's 50th birthday and the 20th anniversary of his creative work, features over 60 of the author's works. These include busts of our contemporaries - actress Svetlana Okruzhna and poet David Simanovich, a large number of medals with portraits of famous Belarusian figures of past centuries - Francysk Skaryna, Euphrosyne of Polotsk, sculptures, reliefs, decorative compositions, and photographs of monuments, memorial plaques, and monumental and decorative compositions created by him.
It is noteworthy that a large number of the Vitebsk sculptor's creations are now a true adornment of the regional center. For example, the monument to the world-famous artist Marc Chagall, "Vitebsk Melody on a French Violin," has become a favorite photo spot for tourists in the city. Every young performer who comes to the forum secretly or openly dreams of taking home the Grand Prix of the International Arts Festival "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk," created by the author.
As Valery Moguchy noted in a conversation with a BELTA correspondent, every creation is dear to him, but the works that are yet to be done in the future are even more precious. In his creative workshop, he has already begun crafting a number of historical figures of Vitebsk. The sculptor hopes that monuments or busts will one day be erected in the regional center. -0-
