Young men from Novopolotsk are undergoing basic training in a border detachment

Today, 10 young activists from Novopolotsk have joined the Polotsk Border Detachment for a one-day "Young Fighter" training course. This was announced by the first secretary of the Novopolotsk city committee of BSRM, Alexander Prohorov.

"The competition for this one-day course among the guys was fierce: just half an hour after the announcement, we had to close it, as we received 15 applications, and there were only 10 spots in the border detachment," noted Alexander Prohorov.

Among the 10 lucky ones, who were ultimately chosen by lot, were high school students from city schools and the Novopolotsk State Polytechnic College. The young men will spend 24 hours performing the same tasks as conscript soldiers. They will be told about the weapons used by border guards and safety measures at the shooting range. The guys will try to assemble and disassemble an AK-74. They will be taught how to provide first aid for a gunshot wound and transport a wounded person to a hospital, as well as how and what to protect themselves from weapons of mass destruction.

The future defenders of the Fatherland will undergo drill training, learn the duties of military personnel, and learn to accurately identify the ranks of people in military uniform. The young men will be revealed the secrets of border service tactics and taught the basics of tracking – an important skill for a good border guard.

For those wishing to dedicate their lives to service at a border outpost, information will be provided about the current situation on the state border and which educational institutions they can enroll in to return to the border detachment.

"After completing the 'service,' we will present the guys with certificates of completion of the 'Young Fighter' course, commemorative souvenirs, and representatives of the host side will award each of them with a pennant of the border detachment," said Alexander Prohorov.
