Young composers will present their works at the regional competition in Vitebsk on May 13
May 12, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. Nineteen novice authors will present their works at the regional competition of young composers named after Anatoly Bogatyrev, which will be held in Vitebsk on May 13. Nina Ustinova, a member of the Union of Composers of Belarus, initiator and chairperson of the competition jury, told a BELTA correspondent.
The review of young talents is traditionally held in three age groups: the junior group includes students of grades 1-3 of music schools, the middle group includes students of grades 4-7 of music schools, and the senior group includes students of music colleges and art colleges. To participate in the competition, it is necessary to send an application to the organizing committee indicating a work in the genre of serious music. The organizers do not set additional conditions for potential participants. This year, contestants will present a prelude for piano, romances, pieces for violin, balalaika, cimbalom, and a number of other works to the professional jury, either independently or with the help of illustrators, in a live performance.
The main goal of the competition is to support gifted children and adolescents, and to foster a spirit of creativity in young musicians who are engaged in the difficult task of creating serious musical works. The competition provides participants with a unique opportunity for professional communication with both like-minded peers and professional composers. "Contestants have the opportunity to communicate with each other and hear their works. For them, this is happiness and a serious incentive for development, children feel a sense of pride when their works are performed publicly," emphasized Nina Ustinova.
The winners and prize-winners of the competition will be awarded diplomas, certificates, and valuable gifts. After the event, the organizers try to maintain contact with all participants, organize consultations for them, and monitor their creative achievements and future careers. Several laureates of past competitions have already graduated from the conservatory and become professional composers, while some are receiving relevant education.
The regional festival of young composers named after Anatoly Bogatyrev is held within the framework of the republican festival "Art for Children and Youth".
The organizers of the festival are the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and the Vitebsk State Musical College named after I. Sollertinsky. -0-
