May 31, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Young Vitebsk residents will paint city minibuses on June 1, the head of the agitation and propaganda department of the traffic police department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Internal Affairs Directorate, Olesya Seregina, told a BELTA correspondent. The event, dedicated to International Children's Day, will take place on Victory Square. About 30 schoolchildren will gather here on this day to paint minibuses with gouache, whose owners decided to support the event. The drawings will be dedicated to children's safety on the road and are intended to draw the attention of all road users to this issue, as since the beginning of the year alone, 21 road traffic accidents have occurred in the Vitebsk region, in which two children died and 20 were injured. The event is also aimed at fostering a responsible attitude of children towards their behavior on the roads. "That is why children aged 9-12 were chosen as its main participants - the most vulnerable age group," noted Olesya Seregina. During the event, children will also enjoy exciting games and quizzes on traffic rules. The organizer of the event is the traffic police department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Internal Affairs Directorate. -0-
