Young Vitebsk artists won awards at a competition in St. Petersburg

Young Vitebsk Artists Won Awards at the VI All-Russian In-Person Youth Competition of Fine Arts with International Participation "The Bronze Horseman-2019" in St. Petersburg, as reported by the Vitebsk Children's Art School.

Representatives of about two dozen cities from all over Russia competed for the title of the best. Each school was invited to send 4 participants. The Vitebsk Children's Art School was the only foreign educational institution invited by the organizers to the competition. The competition was held in two age categories - 12-14 years old and 15-17 years old. Contestants performed various tasks: they drew a creative self-portrait, decorative and graphic compositions, and made casts of Roman and Greek statues in the Hermitage. The young Vitebsk artists participated in this competition for the second time, worthily representing the educational institution and supporting Vitebsk's status as a city of artists. The students won three awards. In the younger group, Elizaveta Nesterenko took first place in "Graphic Composition," and Mikhail Litvin took third place in "Self-Portrait." In the older group, Anna Olekhnovich won the Grand Prix based on the total score.

The competition was organized by the federal educational program "Young Artist" (OOO "Program 'Young Artist'") and the Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts.
