Young artists from the Vitebsk region presented their works at the republican competition "Architecture of the Native Land through the Eyes of Children"
The Third Republican Art Competition of Children's Creativity "Architecture of the Native Land Through the Eyes of Children" was held as part of the National Architecture Festival "Minsk-2013". The competition is organized by the Belarusian Union of Architects and is designed to draw attention to the beauty of the native land, to educate the younger generation in the traditions of patriotism, and also to provide an opportunity for young talents to express their creative abilities. Children aged 6 to 15 were invited to use paints, pencils, and other art supplies to talk about their region, a favorite spot, school, studio, or to fantasize about the architecture of the future, about the city they would dream of building.
It is noteworthy that at this forum, Vitebsk region presented the largest number of works compared to other regions. In addition, in two out of three nominations, talents from the Dvina region took first place. Among the winners were seven-year-old Katya Barabashova and nine-year-old Dasha Gruntova.
By the way, 20 out of 30 works sent to the competition from all over the region were created by the Center for Aesthetic Education "Maladzik" (Art School No. 3 of Vitebsk), of which Dasha is a student. They are made in various techniques. And Dasha Gruntova's "City of Mood" is the only competition entry from the region in the wax painting technique. This canvas is distinguished by its special brightness, richness of colors and emotions.
The girl has been studying at the art school since she was five years old. Her works have been exhibited at numerous city exhibitions of children's creativity, but participation in this project brought her her first victory. And her beloved city inspired her.
As noted by Olga Sivtsova, Director of the Center for Aesthetic Education "Maladzik", the institution had already made a name for itself at the "Architecture of the Native Land through the Eyes of Children" competition earlier. The school's award collection includes three prize-winning diplomas from this creative forum.
In addition, the center actively participates in numerous republican and international competitions, among which priority is given to projects of a patriotic nature.
