A religious procession will take place at the construction site of St. Sophia Cathedral in Vitebsk

К месту строительства Софийского собора в Витебске пройдет крестный ход

A religious procession will take place to the construction site of the future St. Sophia Cathedral in Vitebsk. Believers will set off on June 1 at 11:30 AM from the Holy Assumption Cathedral.

At the site where it is planned to build St. Sophia Cathedral, "a prayer service to the Holy Spirit will be held to invoke help in every good deed" in the Vitebsk Diocese.

The religious procession and prayer service will be led by Archbishop Dmitry of Vitebsk and Orsha.

We remind you that in June last year, the site where they intend to build St. Sophia Cathedral was consecrated in Vitebsk. The new church will be built near the left bank of the Western Dvina River, in the Partisan Glory Park, in the area of Chekhov Street. The church will stand on the same axis as the Philharmonic building. It will be a stone building of medium size: 26 meters wide and long, and 35 meters high, including the bell tower.
