Funds from Belinfund are planned to be attracted for the construction of a rabbit breeding complex in the Vitebsk region
The Vitebsk region plans to build a modern rabbit breeding complex with the involvement of funds from the Belarusian Innovation Fund. This was announced to journalists by Oleg Matskevich, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, who took part in the international forum "Innovative Entrepreneurship of the Vitebsk Region 'From Small to Great'".
According to the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, the project is ready and is currently undergoing an examination. "We will still build a rabbit breeding complex, and we plan to attract funds from the innovation fund for these purposes. The construction will be carried out by OOO 'Beshenkovichi agroproduct' – a small enterprise that processes flax and rapeseed oilseeds and produces whole milk substitutes," said Oleg Matskevich. "We are asking the head of state to make the enterprise a resident of the FEZ and grant it certain benefits." The Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee emphasized that 30% of the total number of enterprises in the region are innovation-active. "This is not a bad indicator, but of course, we would like at least half of them to be so," said Oleg Matskevich. He cited several vivid examples of successful innovative enterprises, such as "SIVital," which creates modern test systems for virus detection, and the enterprise "Vitebsk Elevators," which produces equipment with unique characteristics.
"Where there is innovation, the multiplier effect works – there is export, profit, taxes, jobs, decent wages, and people's living standards," the interlocutor summarized. Today, several agreements on developing cooperation were signed at the innovation forum in Vitebsk. The signatories are representatives of Belarus, Russia, Poland, and China. Among them, an agreement was signed between healthcare institutions of the Vitebsk region and an enterprise from China (the parties intend to create a Belarusian-Chinese center for traditional medicine and gymnastics in Vitebsk), as well as a cooperation agreement between the heads of educational institutions of the Vitebsk region and the management of the Complex of Secondary Vocational Educational Institutions of the city of Lodz (Poland).
The forum was attended by representatives of small, medium and large businesses, executive and legislative authorities of Belarus, entrepreneurship support infrastructure, business associations, and international organizations. On November 13, the forum will be held in Orsha.
