Qualitative composition of the laureates of the honorary title «Person of the Year of Vitebsk Region»

The successes of the Vitebsk region today are the result of the labor of many generations. This opinion was expressed at a ceremonial meeting dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the region's formation by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, during the honoring of the laureates of the most prestigious competition of the Dvina region, "Person of the Year of the Vitebsk Region".

The honorary title is a form of encouragement for a significant personal contribution to the socio-economic development of the respective territory, for successful and selfless actions in saving people, ensuring legality and law and order, high achievements in science, education, culture, physical culture and sports, active civic position and public activities, as well as for other achievements that have brought fame to the Vitebsk region and have gained public recognition.

The title "Person of the Year of the Vitebsk Region" is awarded in 20 nominations. In 2012, among 100 awardees, 46 people hold leadership positions, 34 people are specialists and employees, and 20 people belong to the category of workers.

In terms of gender, 43 out of 100 laureates are women.
