Cadets from Vitebsk and Smolensk will celebrate the end of the academic year at a ball
May 29, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. Students of the cadet classes of Secondary School No. 21 in Vitebsk and cadets of the Smolensk Field Marshal Kutuzov Cadet Corps will celebrate the end of the academic year at a ball to be held on May 29 in Vitebsk, the administration of the Vitebsk school informed a BELTA correspondent.
To the sounds of the military orchestra of the Vitebsk commandant's office, 62 couples will take to the floor of the regional philharmonic hall, including 38 cadets from the 8th and 10th grades of the Vitebsk school. The partners of the Vitebsk cadets will be participants of the "Ladushki" ensemble of the Palace of Culture of the Railway District of the regional center. The honor to represent the Smolensk Cadet Corps at the Vitebsk ball fell to twelve young men, who will be supported by participants of Smolensk dance groups. The ball program includes performances of the Viennese waltz, polka, tango, and mazurka. In the finale, the couples will whirl in a waltz.
Although the curriculum in the cadet classes does not include dance lessons, the Vitebsk cadets have actively learned the basics of choreography throughout the year in elective classes organized at the district Palace of Culture. Holding cadet balls has become a traditional event for students of the cadet classes of Secondary School No. 21 in Vitebsk. The current ball will be the third since the establishment of cadet classes at School No. 21, but for all participants of the dance extravaganza, the upcoming appearance on the dance floor will be their first. -0-
