Personnel day with the chairman of the regional executive committee. If you take up the reins, don't say you're not strong.

Nikolai Sherstnev continues to form the directorial corps of the region's enterprises from among people capable of working in the current economic situation, seeing development prospects, and ensuring positive results of economic activity. At the last personnel day with the chairman of the regional executive committee, the appointment of six and the extension of contracts for nine managers were agreed upon, and interviews were held with two.

Among them are both seasoned veterans like the chairman of SKhPK "Mayak Braslavsky" Romuald Shukel, and recent graduates of the country's agricultural universities. For example, the director of OJSC "Chereyshchina" of the Lepel district, Artem Bykov. Romuald Ivanovich is a master, as they say, "from the land," he has grown roots in it, knows, understands, and can do everything in his business. His farm is equipped with machinery, the structure of the grain wedge is optimally selected for the soils of Braslavshchina, and lupine and peas, as a protein component of fodder for livestock, are also provided for in the crops. The result is here: the profitability of milk in the farm is 44 percent. And this is real money, which all farms need so much today, but few know how to earn it. Romuald Ivanovich is full of strength and desire to work to implement the plans.

Artem Alexandrovich graduated from the veterinary academy five years ago, he is an animal breeder. He is learning management experience on the go. Again, he inherited a difficult farm, and without the support of the district executive committee, the necessity of which the head of the region emphasized for the Lepel District Agricultural Production Department, it is not easy for the young leader. But he works, he holds on. He recently got married, is moving his wife to him, and it seems that he intends to settle in the Lepel region seriously and for a long time. Regardless of experience, all managers will have to deal with a large layer of problems, the first of which are increasing production volumes and efficiency, selling quality products, and making a profit. 34-year-old Alexander Shokel, who, after 3 years of directorship at OJSC "Turkovo", takes on the burden of managing the Miory Feed Mill, understands this well. Taking into account the debt of agricultural enterprises for the supplied feed, he intends to accept livestock from them in payment of debt and, with the help of the plant's workers, raise livestock for subsequent sale. And to provide it with protein, he plans to sow rapeseed on the available land, which will also be useful for replacing imported protein components (sunflower, soy) in feed production.

The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee generally approves of this approach, but sets a broader task: to create a high-quality, balanced feed at a price affordable to consumers, and to load the enterprise's production capacities, which in 2015 were used only by a third.

Viktor Stashkevich has returned to the helm of OJSC "Turkovo". He previously served as director here and is well-acquainted with the situation not only within the enterprise but also in the district. He firmly believes that the success of any endeavor is ensured by three components: high responsibility of managers and specialists, strict adherence to technological discipline, and coordinated work of personnel. Therefore, he is confident that the task set by the chairman of the regional executive committee to further increase grain yields in "Turkovo" will be fulfilled. The new director of KUSKhP "Agrositsy" in the Dokshitsy district, Sergey Kuchko, has inherited a complex situation. The enterprise comprises 4 merged agricultural organizations. Cultivating the land is challenging due to small plot sizes, so the local management plans to transfer unproductive land for afforestation. The people freed up in this process must be provided with other work. There can be no surplus labor in the countryside, especially in the farms of the Dokshitsy district, where almost all agricultural indicators have been declining year after year, believes Nikolay Sherstnev. – Any manager must start by reducing production costs and identifying opportunities for revenue growth, – he emphasized while approving Evgeny Troyan as the director of OJSC "Studenka" in the Senno district. – Low milk quality and marketability result in direct losses for the farm, and the primary responsibility for this lies with livestock specialists, veterinarians, and cow milking machine operators.

Agricultural enterprises should be the driving force in all matters, analyze economic indicators and advise agricultural enterprises on where they are making mistakes. Unfortunately, many economists are currently more focused on collecting and summarizing reports. Otherwise, how can their inaction in the case of OJSC "Litsovo" in Senno district be understood, if even a cursory analysis of its operations shows that milk yield, weight gain, calf survival, and the number of calves per 100 cows need to be doubled? There is hope that the new director, Yevgeny Kovalyonok, who took office with an understanding of the existing problems, sees the prospects of the farm and will be able to mobilize the team to achieve them. This is similar to his colleague Lyudmila Vertashonok from OJSC "Ushachi Rayagropromservice", where 13 directors have changed in the last two years alone. – If the leader is competent, has managed to assemble a professional team and set it up for coordinated work, he will always be able to overcome problems. Get involved in the process and work at full capacity, – the chairman of the regional executive committee advised the managers.
