How will Sharkovshchina change for the regional "Dazhynki-2023"?
Every year, architects propose a modernization concept for the holiday venues based on one of the local tourist brands. In Sharkovshchina, this brand is the green apple of the Belarusian variety "Pamyats Sikory", created by the gardener-breeder Ivan Sikora, who was born and worked in this region. The green apple will define the stylistic theme of the upcoming holiday.
– It is planned that the facades of residential buildings on the outskirts of Sharkovshchina and near the center of the urban-type settlement will be finished in white, gray, and various shades of green, – says the chief architect of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Yuri Vyzhikovsky. – The theme of the green apple will also be present in new small architectural forms that will be installed in the green zones of the urban-type settlement.
As for the central part of the district center, according to the interlocutor, there are no plans to change the external appearance of the buildings there. However, reconstruction and construction are expected.
– A major overhaul of the House of Culture is planned; by the way, it is located in the center of Sharkovshchina, and its appearance significantly influences the perception of the entire town, – says Yuri Vyzhikovsky, talking about the main modernization objects. – Besides, it is a cultural center. Official events, concerts are held here, and the Civil Registry Office is located here. And across the road from the House of Culture, through the courtyards, there was a long disused bathhouse building. It will be demolished. And on this site, by the upcoming holiday, it is planned to build a sports and recreation complex. The sports complex will be two-story, it will house a swimming pool, a gym, and a universal sports hall. Near the building, there are plans to install a hockey rink. By the way, this sports complex will resemble a similar facility in Verkhnedvinsk. Plus, nearby, on Rabochaya Street, it is planned to build a 40-apartment residential building.
The interlocutor also listed some other upcoming metamorphoses.
The alley opposite the House of Culture and the green island at the entrance to Sharkovshchina from the direction of Glubokoe will be landscaped. A major overhaul of 11 residential buildings and current repairs of 26 are planned. Throughout the district center, where necessary, roads (including transit ones), sidewalks, and bridges will be repaired. Modernization will also affect all social facilities. For example, current repairs of the buildings of nursery-kindergarten No. 1 and the children's art school are planned, as well as the installation of new equipment on the sports ground in front of Secondary School No. 1. Naturally, retail outlets will also be put in order.
