The Head of State has set the healthcare sector the task of leveling the difference between urban and rural healthcare, and this task is being systematically implemented in the Vitebsk region. This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Vyacheslav Durnov, at a meeting of the main department for healthcare of the Regional Executive Committee, where the results of the past year were summarized and plans for 2025 were outlined.

Maximum effort is being made to ensure a decent level of medical care for residents of remote villages, noted Vyacheslav Durnov. Narrow specialists and teachers from VSMU are receiving patients in the districts. The vehicle fleet has been updated in all central district hospitals. Mobile vehicle complexes are operating in 16 districts, thanks to which the population can not only receive medical assistance but also undergo medical examinations and vaccinations. Joint efforts of healthcare workers and representatives of local authorities have been undertaken to strengthen the material and technical base, and this work continues. The same applies to the work on improving the culture of service to the population. The Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee emphasized that the tasks facing healthcare are complex but achievable and are under the attention of the authorities. The order of the Head of State on the implementation of a centralized healthcare system by the end of 2025 is being consistently realized.

A number of employees of healthcare institutions in the region were awarded honorary diplomas of the Regional Executive Committee.
