How the first day of the V Forum of the Belarusian Media Community went

Как прошел первый день V Форума медийного сообщества Беларуси
The media forum "Media Today: Focus on Truth" is taking place in the Gomel region on June 5-6.

About 1000 participants – journalists, media experts, representatives of the blogosphere, the ideological vertical, and press services of republican government bodies – gathered in the Gomel region to discuss the role of truthful and objective information in the modern world, and to exchange professional experience and modern technologies for working in the information field.

Journalists from the northern region began their work with a press tour in Rogachev, where colleagues from the newspaper "Molochnye Traditsii" spoke about the activities of the corporate newspaper of the Rogachev Condensed Milk Plant.

There was also a tasting of products. The question of whose condensed milk is tastier, Glubokoye's or Rogachev's, was not asked by the Vitebsk journalists to avoid direct confrontation.

The development of the young correspondent movement and the prospects for children's and youth media, as well as career guidance, were discussed at the Rogachev District Center for Children and Youth Creativity, which hosts the "MEDIA-MOL" young journalist school and the "Pozitiv-TV" youth television studio. Students of Secondary School No. 2 of Rogachev named after V.M. Kolesnikov presented the civic-patriotic project "The Last Echelon".

The first day concluded with a panel discussion with the participation of the General Director of "BelTA", Irina Akulovich, on the topic "Media Transformation. How to Influence the Audience in Simple Ways".

Tomorrow, delegations from all regions will meet in Gomel for the plenary session of the Media Forum.

The event features an exhibition-presentation of the best media projects dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Soviet people's victory in the Great Patriotic War. The regional newspaper presented the "Pages of Victory" project – a mobile traveling exhibition and an online exposition of archival newspaper issues, exclusive materials, photos, and video chronicles from May 9, 1945, to May 2025.

Incidentally, the "VV" initiative was supported by colleagues from the Pskov Media Holding. On Victory Day, a street exhibition was opened in the center of Pskov featuring archival issues of the newspapers "Vitebskiye Vesti" and "Pskovskaya Pravda" from different years, reflecting the chronicle of life, heroic deeds, recovery, and preservation of the memory of the war.
The second part of the media forum will traditionally feature the awarding of the winners of the XXI National Competition "Golden Letter".
