How is the health improvement campaign progressing in the Vitebsk region?

According to Snezhana Titova, Head of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population, the health improvement campaign started in the Vitebsk region on June 1. Children's health improvement is carried out in various types of camps. As of today, 350 day camps have been opened on the basis of educational institutions and sports schools, attended by 17,907 children, including 52 specialized camps (ecological, computer, military-sports, patriotic, art, etc.) attended by 1,708 children.

In 37 labor and recreation camps, 572 teenagers are resting and working. They are engaged in landscaping and gardening, repairing schools and school furniture, sewing work clothes, caring for plants, and working in agricultural enterprises.

Out of 31 suburban stationary camps, 13 have opened, accommodating 1,950 children. There are 6 specialized 9-day round-the-clock camps operating, where 202 children are undergoing health improvement.

As in previous years, the health improvement of children in need of social protection is under special control. Currently, 729 children from large families, 74 orphans and children left without parental care, and 82 children with disabilities are resting in the camps. Among them, 30 children with disabilities under 18 years of age, with musculoskeletal disorders, visual and hearing impairments, are in the "Raduga" health resort camp accompanied by doctors.

Extensive work is being carried out in the health resort camps of the region on the patriotic, spiritual and moral, ecological, and family education of children and teenagers.

Meetings are held with employees of district emergency departments and internal affairs bodies, who conduct interactive events teaching children how to act in emergency situations and promoting the formation of a healthy lifestyle among children.

The grand opening of sports and patriotic camps took place in Vitebsk at the base of the 103rd Vitebsk Airborne Brigade, with the participation of over a thousand Vitebsk schoolchildren.
