Как стимулируют интерес поколения next к науке в Витебском государственном университете имени П.М.Машерова
Young men and women pursuing higher education at Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov take their first steps into science by consolidating, expanding, and enriching theory with practice in three student research laboratories. The administration and faculty stimulate the interest of the next generation and support their thirst for knowledge. For the successes of students and educators in scientific research, one of the leading universities of the Vitebsk region has been inscribed on the Republican Honor Board.

The quantitative indicators of VSU's participation in research activities speak for themselves: 12 tasks of State Programs for Scientific Research, 13 projects of the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research (BRFFI), 18 research works commissioned by enterprises and organizations – and this is just for 2019. Behind these figures are people dedicated to a cause that benefits society; behind each development is a cohesive team of like-minded individuals.

As emphasized by Dmitry Antonovich, First Vice-Rector of VSU, research and scientific activities are conducted at the university continuously. It is systematic work that allows for high performance. 142 scientific achievements implemented in various sectors of the national economy, 580 scientific articles, 152 textbooks written by university faculty, defense of four doctoral and four candidate dissertations, 35 departments conducting scientific, scientific-technical, and innovative activities – these are just a few of the indicators that have propelled the state university to the forefront among scientific organizations in the country.

In 2019, three postgraduate students of the university became recipients of grants from the Ministry of Education and BRFFI. Two received scholarships from the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus; incidentally, in 2020, there were four such recipients. Among VSU students, seven received the President's support last year.

VSU implements the strategy of a third-generation university model, combining the functions of an educational, research, and innovation center ("University 3.0"); specialists are trained in 13 educational, scientific, and production complexes across all faculties.

Publications in ranked journals, implementation of faculty developments into the educational process, participation in international competitions, as well as educational, cultural programs and exhibitions, conducting scientific and practical conferences at VSU (in 2019, 15 conferences were held at the university, 12 of which were of international level) – all of this is part of the university's daily life. Days filled with hard work and a drive for new discoveries.

The Republican Honor Board also includes the city of Novopolotsk, enterprises of the Vitebsk region: OJSC "Verkhnedvinsk Dairy Plant", PUP "Vitebsk Sawmill", OJSC "Mechanized Column No. 43, Vitebsk", KUPSP "Kohanovichi" of Verkhnedvinsk district, OJSC "Vesta"; the regional clinical maternity hospital.
