How is Senno preparing for the regional "Dazhynki"?
Together with the Deputy Chairman for Construction, Sergey Prokopovich, we walked around the main sites of "Dazhynki". The reconstruction of the central part of the city with a square and the Park of Three Heroes is nearing completion. In the square, it remains to clad the monument in granite and hang portraits of the heroes. A mock-up of the Eternal Flame has been erected.
Paving slabs have been laid on the square, pathways are being outlined, lawns are being landscaped by employees of Vitebsk "Zelentkhoz", and the planting of coniferous trees has begun, with deciduous species to follow after the holiday for rural workers. The latter particularly concerned the townspeople: many hazardous trees in the city center had to be removed during construction. However, the main square will not be left without greenery. A trial run of the reconstructed fountain with beautifully laid out fish has been carried out. It has already been favored by local children.
Special attention has been paid to social facilities. For example, the unsightly building housing the district registry office has long been a subject of ridicule. "A wedding around the corner," local wits joked. Debates about whether a new building was needed or not went on for years, and decisions were made that were never implemented. And finally, it happened! The opening of a new registry office building in Senno is timed to coincide with "Dazhynki". It was built by the Vitebsk enterprise "Vector-A". The fountain of lovers has also been harmoniously integrated here, where couples will surely throw coins. Work is nearing completion, and the facility is planned to be commissioned in early September.
Various organizations are involved in the work. The aforementioned square is being improved by Vitebsk Construction Trust No. 9, whose specialists are also working at the FOK (Physical Culture and Sports Complex) (its opening is also planned for mid-September; previously, young people had to practice athletics in an unheated room during winter). The stadium next to the FOK is also a facility of Trust No. 9.
Employees of the Kruglyanskaya PMK of the Mogilev region are also involved in the improvement. The Sennenskoye Housing and Communal Services took over part of the capital repair of residential buildings, and the Vitebsk builders from the Delta enterprise took over the other part. The historical and local lore museum, the House of Culture, and the children's library are undergoing renovation. Vitebskoblstroy and Lepel road workers were responsible for tidying up the streets.
The Park of Three Heroes now features an excellent open-air museum of military equipment, including airborne combat vehicles, armored personnel carriers, and artillery pieces – the idea of the district head Vasily Cherednik has been realized. Among the latest acquisitions are two fighter jets: a Su-24 and a Su-27, a gift from the Ministry of Defense. Sergey Prokopovich notes that even guests from Vitebsk come to admire the military equipment and take photos with it. A memorial to the internationalist soldiers serves as a symbol of the continuity of generations. A chapel with a cross will also be located nearby.
Thus, the capital of "Dazhynak" will appear before the guests in all its splendor. We believe that its visit will leave the best memories for the rural workers.
