Candidates for deputy officially begin their campaign for voters' votes in the Vitebsk region

The election campaign for deputies of local Councils has entered its most interesting stage. Candidates are officially starting to compete for voters' votes, who, in turn, can support future deputies not only morally during the voting but also financially during the campaign.

Candidates for a deputy mandate have the right to establish election funds to finance campaign expenses. They can open only one special election account at Belarusbank branches. The amount of donations from individuals and legal entities must be calculated based on the new base value, which is 24.5 rubles as of January 1, 2018.

Information about opening a special account, as well as about the receipt and expenditure of funds from the account, is communicated to voters through local media. Receiving financial assistance from abroad is not permitted.

Funds can be spent, among other things, on renting buildings and premises, producing campaign leaflets, airtime and space for publication in the media, consulting services, and campaign work, etc. All issues related to election funds are regulated by the Resolution of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Belarus No. 48 dated December 12, 2017.
