Candidates for deputies from the Vitebsk region have concluded public discussions on air
September 12, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The broadcast of debates between candidates for deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus of the fifth convocation has concluded in the Vitebsk region, the republican unitary enterprise "Vitebsk TV and Radio Company" informed a BELTA correspondent.
Eight television and six radio public pre-election discussions were aired. The televised debates involved two to four candidates or their proxies, while the radio debates featured up to three participants. Notably, candidates preferred to participate in radio debates themselves, whereas in televised debates, some contenders for parliamentary seats entrusted their proxies to lead the discussions before voters.
The pre-election programs of the candidates for deputies have been published in local newspapers, and by September 15, campaign materials, which candidates intend to pay for from their election funds, will appear in print. This is the first time such an opportunity has become available to them in this election campaign.
The region's candidate campaign is ongoing. As noted by the Department of Organizational and Personnel Work of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, contenders are currently meeting with their electorate. The progress of the election campaign is being monitored by both domestic and international observers. -0-
