A chapel in memory of the war victims was built in Miory by a resident of Moscow at her own expense

Капліцу у памяць ахвяр вайны пабудавала у Міёрах жыхарка Масквы за уласныя грошы

During the liberation of the Miory region, 5356 people died, and thousands more partisans, underground fighters, and civilians were burned, hanged, and shot by the occupiers. They are buried in mass graves and individually. The ashes of 225 people lie in the central square of the district center. Tamara Lyakhova, a native of the Vitebsk region and now a resident of Moscow, wished to perpetuate their memory, as well as the memory of those who died at the hands of the fascists on the fronts and in the rear. She once worked in Miory, grew fond of the town and its people, and in the jubilee year of the Great Victory, she decided to erect a chapel in the district center on Fallen Fighters Square in memory of the victims of the war.

The construction was recently completed. The chapel was consecrated by Archpriest Viktor Vabishchevich. Tomorrow, as part of the festive program with the participation of priests, believers, and the public, a service will be held in it in memory of the fallen.
